    We walk the section with you to confirm access, known service locations and the plan for the new pool or the removal area.

    For new installs we work from the pool supplier's excavation drawings and levels; for removals we confirm the extent of the shell and any surrounding structures to be taken out.

    Excavation

    We excavate to the required depth, width and shape, managing spoil as we go and working carefully around existing services and structures.

    Shell removal where applicable

    For removal projects we excavate around the shell to allow safe access, working alongside a demolition contractor where breaking out concrete or fibreglass is required.

    Backfill and compaction

    Once removal is complete we backfill in layers with suitable material and compact it to reduce future settlement.

  6. 06

    Final grading and handover

    We grade the finished area to shed water correctly and hand the site over ready for your pool installer, landscaper or next stage of work.

Equipment and access for pool excavation & removal

We select excavator size to suit the section access and dig depth, from compact machines for tight residential gateways through to larger excavators for bigger builds. Tip trucks are arranged as needed to cart spoil or old shell material off site. Final equipment choice is confirmed once we've seen the site and the excavation drawings.

Plan around the work

Expect machinery on site for a defined period depending on the size of the dig and depth of excavation required. Driveways and access paths may be temporarily restricted while machinery is working nearby. We aim to keep noise and mess contained to the immediate work area and clean down access routes at the end of each day.

Yes, we excavate around and remove old shells, working alongside a demolition contractor where breaking out concrete or fibreglass is needed, then backfill and compact the area ready for lawn, garden or further landscaping.

How do you know how deep and wide to dig?

We work from the excavation drawings and levels supplied by your pool installer or supplier, confirming the dig plan with you before starting.

What happens to the excavated soil?

Suitable spoil can sometimes be reused on site for grading or garden beds; the rest is carted away, which we can arrange as part of the job.

Will removing a pool leave the ground stable enough to build on?

Backfilled and compacted ground is generally suitable for lawn or garden use; if you're planning a structure over the old pool footprint, this typically needs specific engineering advice on top of our excavation and backfill work.

Can you work around tight backyard access?

We assess access as part of the site visit and choose machinery sized to suit gateways, side access and existing landscaping wherever possible.
